Waiting for Spring..........
It is January and it is winter in the Uintah Basin. Decided to take some more winter scenes as the ground is covered with snow and we are below zero most evenings. It will be sometime before we see bare ground. I am reminded of a photo I saw while living in Spring Creek, Nevada in the 1980s. Cold long winters were common there. One year we had frost every month except August. It was tough to grow a garden under those conditions. Was looking as a book about one of the large ranches, the Spanish Ranch, owned by some people we knew. The ranch was located north of Tuscarora,Nevada. There were many winter scenes with livestock and horses. One photo showed a small area of ground poking out of the snow. The photo was titled, "Bare Ground." I can relate to that living in the Uintah basin. When we get snow in December it generally stays on the ground until Spring comes.
Decided to go out into the oil and gas fields and take some winter pictures.
