Lichen covered rocks like these are difficult to walk over by a stumble footed old man. It is best to go around if possible. The dead tree on the edge is tough to get through also. But they are bueatiful to look at and enjoy with out anyone to bother you. In the 6 trips I have taken into this area I have not seen another person after I left the trailhead. Only people I have seen has been with me. It is good to get out and way from crowds.
