Jodanelle dam between Heber and Park city, Utah. This dam backs up the Provo river. Dam is near the old Mayflower mine. It was good producer of gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc. The ore on the 26th level when mine was shut down and the pumps pulled was averaging about 0.25 ounces per ton of gold. Helca mining company decieded to shut down the long time producing mine and open another in Arizona, the Lakeshore project. The old tailing ponds are covered over near the overpass that leads to the marina on the Jordenelle reservior. The mayflower mine was accessed thru the Ontario drain tunnel. Underground rail went several miles back into the mountain to the internal Mayflower shaft. Drain waters from many of the historic mines in Park city area were drained thru the Ontario drain tunnel.
