Take my packframe off and lay it down to take a rest and eat a candy bar. My trusty walking stick is by the pack. I don't walk anywhere if I can help it with out my stick. It helps me maintain my balance, break limbs off trees, turn over and examine objects on the ground. Elk horn on top can be inserted in a crack in rock or tree fork to help me pull myself up. The stick has many other uses. The canvas sack that I have my supplies in has been tattered on the top. I had left it in a tree for a few days. Squirels and birds tryed to chew their way into the sack and get the goodies I had left. Another cache at a later date was tore out of a tree and taken by a bear.
