Dead tree across trail marks the spot where I turn off to cached supplies. I made 2 trips carrying supplies and equipment for my stay in the area. Supplies were in a canvas bag tied up with a rope and placed in a black plastic bag. This was pulled up a pine tree and tied with a rope approximately 8 feet above ground level. As I was leaving on my last trip, stopped to pick up and take out what I had left. Cached supplies were gone. Plastic bag was torn and canvas bag containing supplies was no where to be found. Two Poweraid bottle, one empty and other full was left at base of tree. Full bottle had be chewed thru and liquid gone. Teeth marks on the bottle suggested it was a bear. It had stood up and was able to reach and tear black plastic bag and canvas bag of supplies fell out. Rope and plastic bag still in tree. Bark on tree was not disturb so bear did not climb up to supplies. It had packed bag off. I hope it enjoyed cans of corned beef, peaches, salve for feet and ammunition. P
